Flash floods and severe thunderstorms strike several areas in Al Hoceima province, causing significant material damage

Wave of heavy rain and floods sweep through Al Hoceima province
The province of Al Hoceima has experienced significant weather instability over the past few hours, marked by intense rainfall and thunderstorms, leading to powerful flash floods in several urban and peri-urban areas. These extreme weather conditions were particularly concentrated in the areas of Ait Bouayach, Imzouren, and Boukidane, where the resulting floods caused noticeable damage to road infrastructure.
Material damage and traffic disruption
The rushing torrents that swept through some streets and road axes in the mentioned areas inundated many roads, complicating movement for both vehicles and pedestrians alike. In the same context, material damage of varying severity was recorded on some vehicles that were parked or traveling in the affected areas due to the force of the floodwaters.
Fallen trees and impact on National Road No. 2
The repercussions of these weather disturbances were not limited to flooding; the strong wind gusts accompanying the rain also contributed to fallen trees on vital sections of the road network. Field reports indicate that this incident was recorded on National Road No. 2, specifically on the section connecting the communes of Beni Abdellah and Ait Qamra, which mobilized the competent authorities to intervene, restore normal traffic flow, and ensure the safety of road users.
