Inspector General of the FAR Receives Emirati Chief of Staff on Official Visit

Under the High Instructions of His Majesty the King, Supreme Commander and Chief of General Staff of the Royal Armed Forces (FAR), General de Corps d’Armée Mohammed Berrid, Inspector General of the FAR and Commander of the Southern Zone, received in Rabat Lieutenant General Issa Saif Mohammed Al Mazrouei, Chief of Staff of the UAE Armed Forces, who is on an official visit to Morocco leading a high-level military delegation.
This visit takes place in the context of the Emirati official’s participation in the third session of the Moroccan-Emirati joint military commission and attendance at the “Marrakech Air Show 2026”.
Advancing Defense Industry and Military Capabilities
During their bilateral discussions, both sides highlighted the progress in Moroccan-Emirati military cooperation, particularly in field capabilities, defense industry, training programs, and the exchange of military expertise. Both parties reiterated their commitment to strengthening this strategic partnership in the common interest of both brotherly nations.
Conclusion of the Military Commission and Medal Award
Following the meetings, General Berrid and the Emirati Chief of Staff co-chaired the closing session of the joint military commission. General Berrid presented Lieutenant General Al Mazrouei with the “Order of Military Merit with Grand Cordon,” bestowed by King Mohammed VI in recognition of his efforts to enhance bilateral military ties.
Historical Foundations of Cooperation
Military cooperation between the Royal Armed Forces and their Emirati counterparts is based on a shared strategic vision and a strong historical dynamic, initiated with the first military agreement in 1980 and consolidated by the comprehensive framework agreement of May 2006.
