French pedophile Jacques Le Voguer dies in prison before international trial

According to media reports based on official data, the 79-year-old French citizen Jacques Le Voguer passed away in prison on September 19, before he could stand trial for the serious charges of sexual assault against dozens of children and minors over a period of five decades.
Case surfaces through personal diaries
The case came to light in 2023 when the suspect’s nephew discovered personal diaries spanning 15 volumes and over 3,000 pages. According to investigations, these journals documented in detail sexual assaults targeting minors in several countries, prompting authorities to open an extensive judicial inquiry.
Scope of crimes and international network of victims
French investigations indicate that Jacques Le Voguer was involved in sexual assaults targeting at least 89 minors between 1967 and 2022, across countries including France, Morocco, Algeria, Germany, Switzerland, Colombia, India, and the Philippines. Investigations revealed that he exploited his activities to facilitate contact with children.
Extension of the case to Moroccan territory
New data from the public prosecutor’s office in Grenoble revealed that the number of potential victims in Morocco, where the suspect resided for 15 years, exceeds 12 children. Research is ongoing to identify the victims and uncover all incidents potentially committed on Moroccan soil.
Legal challenges and end of judicial proceedings
French judicial authorities had issued an appeal for witnesses to complete the investigation. However, investigations noted difficulties related to the statute of limitations for many of the incidents. Although he was expected to stand trial in 2027, his death in prison closed the judicial case against him without a verdict.
