Health Union in Marrakech demands a comprehensive inventory of all administrative and official housing

Firm union action to uncover the management of official housing in Marrakech

In a move reflecting the extent of tension and questions surrounding the management of public real estate resources, the regional office of the National Health Union, affiliated with the Democratic Confederation of Labor (CDT) in Marrakech, has directed a strongly worded letter to the regional health delegate. The union demands a comprehensive and updated inventory of all administrative and official housing belonging to health services and institutions in the region.

Suspicions of double benefits and demands for legal audit

In the same correspondence, the union pointed out, based on data received, the existence of cases suspected of violating applicable regulations, most notably some officials benefiting from more than one administrative or official residence simultaneously. The union has called for the immediate opening of an administrative inquiry to verify these facts, review the legal basis for the allocation of each residence, and verify whether the current beneficiaries still meet the requirements for usage.

Reference to government circulars and accountability

The union linked its demand to legal and regulatory frameworks, specifically the Prime Minister’s circulars No. 16/94 dated September 21, 1994, and No. 35/95 dated August 17, 1995, which concern the procedures for continuing to occupy administrative housing after cessation of service, in addition to relevant regulations within the health sector.

Awaiting administrative response and expected practical measures

Concluding its letter, the union called on the regional health head in Marrakech to provide a detailed written response that includes the results of the inventory and administrative investigation, along with the measures the administration intends to take. The union affirmed its commitment to following the case until transparency and fairness are established in the allocation of administrative and official housing.
