Transfer of the accused to Oukacha local prison

The correctional court of Aïn Sebaâ in Casablanca decided, on the evening of Monday, September 28, to remand the driver accused of hitting a policeman to the local prison of Oukacha, following a serious traffic accident that occurred while the victim was performing his official duties at the “Anfa” roundabout.

According to available data, the court held an immediate hearing to rule on the case on the same day the events occurred. The accused was brought before the justice system, which decided to prosecute her in detention and transfer her to Oukacha prison, setting October 5 as the date for a new hearing to continue reviewing the details of the case and the circumstances of the incident.

Details of the tragic accident at the Anfa roundabout

The incident dates back to earlier, when security services stopped the driver, along with a passenger, as there were indications she was driving under the influence of alcohol. This reckless driving resulted in a direct collision with a police officer who was performing his professional duty at a checkpoint on the Anfa roundabout.

The victim sustained serious injuries that required his urgent transfer to the hospital to receive the necessary treatment, but he succumbed to those injuries. In the same context, the competent security services have opened a judicial investigation under the supervision of the relevant public prosecutor to determine all responsibilities and impose the necessary legal consequences on the person involved.
