New Strategic Partnership Between Egypt and Morocco Worth $440 Million for Automotive and Tourism Sectors

Economic cooperation between Egypt and Morocco is entering a promising new phase, driven by serious efforts to strengthen the bilateral partnership through significant investments. In this context, an alliance of Egyptian and Moroccan companies plans to inject initial investments of $440 million into the Moroccan market over the next three years, according to the head of the Egyptian-Moroccan Business Council.

Distribution of Investment Sectors
According to the announced data, these investments are spread across vital sectors; $240 million has been allocated to various projects in the automotive and food processing sectors, while the remaining $200 million will be directed toward developing and supporting the tourism sector.

Focus on Electric Vehicles and Supply Chains
Nizar Abu Ismail, Chairman of the Egyptian-Moroccan Business Council, explained that bilateral cooperation in the automotive sector will focus particularly on electric vehicles. He noted that the plan relies on manufacturing components in Egypt in parallel with the assembly and final production of vehicles in Morocco, which will enhance integration between the two countries in regional supply chains.

Removing Obstacles and Facilitating Trade
In addition to direct investments, both sides have agreed to work together to facilitate the movement of goods and remove trade barriers. These efforts are accompanied by ambitious expectations aimed at raising the value of Egyptian imports from Morocco to $500 million over the next three years.

Current Trade Exchange Indicators
These investment plans come at a time when trade balance data shows a notable equilibrium; during the first half of 2026, Egypt’s exports to Morocco reached approximately $44.43 million, while Egypt’s imports from Morocco recorded about $45.01 million. The new alliance aims to drive these indicators toward new record levels.
