Abdellatif Hammouchi receives Kuwaiti Ambassador to enhance bilateral security cooperation in Rabat

Strengthening the security partnership between Rabat and Kuwait
The Director General of National Security and Territorial Surveillance, Mr. Abdellatif Hammouchi, received at the directorate’s headquarters in Rabat the Ambassador of the State of Kuwait to the Kingdom of Morocco, Mr. Ahmed Abdulrahman Al-Baker, as part of both countries’ efforts to strengthen and develop their bilateral cooperation relations.
Historical bonds and a shared desire to expand cooperation horizons
According to a statement issued by the pole of the General Directorate of National Security and the General Directorate of Territorial Surveillance, this meeting reflects the solid and historical brotherly bonds that unite the Kingdom of Morocco and the brotherly State of Kuwait, confirming a shared desire to elevate bilateral partnership paths to broader levels that meet the aspirations of both countries.
Addressing emerging security challenges and combating organized crime
The same source stated that the discussions focused primarily on the coordination of security efforts of common interest, serving as an opportunity to review joint working mechanisms for effectively dealing with emerging security challenges and consolidating direct communication channels between the security institutions of both countries, as Morocco is considered a reliable and effective partner within international security cooperation systems.
The two sides also discussed ways to develop the exchange of policing expertise and experiences, particularly in the fields of combating transnational organized crime and countering terrorist threats, in addition to focusing on the importance of joint training programs and increasing the operational readiness of security personnel.
Future prospects and institutionalizing cooperation through a Memorandum of Understanding
The meeting concluded with both sides reaffirming their firm commitment to intensifying field and intelligence coordination, with a move toward the institutionalization of this bilateral cooperation through the upcoming signing of a security Memorandum of Understanding, which contributes to supporting the ability of both countries to anticipate and confront various challenges and risks.
