The arrest of “Ali Namdar” by Moroccan security services

Security services in the city of Tangier, in coordination with the International Criminal Police Organization (Interpol), have successfully apprehended 21-year-old Ali Namdar, who is considered one of the most high-profile international fugitives in cases related to organized crime in Sweden.

Close ties to the “Foxtrot” criminal network

According to data provided by Swedish media, led by Swedish Television (SVT), the suspect was a prominent member of the “Foxtrot” criminal network, which has sparked widespread concern in Sweden. Swedish authorities are pursuing “Namdar” for serious criminal charges, including attempted murder and organized violence in cities such as Borås, Uddevalla, and Katrineholm, as well as outstanding search warrants in Norway.

A criminal record with 18 charges

Swedish judicial records indicate that Ali Namdar is wanted on 18 criminal charges, with warrants issued in absentia by five Swedish courts of first instance. Among the most notable allegations, investigations in “Borås” revealed he is suspected of being the primary instigator behind a 12-year-old child’s attempt to detonate two bombs in a residential area last year.

Successful international security cooperation

Swedish Minister of Justice Gunnar Strömmer praised the arrest, stating that capturing “Namdar” is a top priority in the fight against transnational organized crime. The Swedish authorities, via Prosecutor Helene Gestrin, confirmed their intention to submit a formal request to Morocco for his extradition to complete the investigation and trial process. This arrest comes as part of strengthened security cooperation between Rabat and Stockholm, which was commended by the Swedish National Police Commissioner, Petra Lund, who emphasized that the operation’s success reflects the long-term international coordination between the security services of both nations.

Current procedures in Morocco

Ali Namdar is currently being held in custody in Morocco, where he is being questioned regarding his potential involvement in the forgery and use of identification documents. This is occurring in parallel with ongoing coordination with Swedish authorities to finalize the legal procedures for his extradition, based on information reported by local and international media.
