Judicial police in Tangier arrest Swedish citizen accused of attempted murder

Successful security operation in Tangier
As part of international security cooperation and the pursuit of individuals wanted for transnational crimes, members of the Judicial Police in Tangier, in close coordination with the General Directorate for Territorial Surveillance (DGST), have successfully arrested a 22-year-old Swedish national.
Red Notice and serious criminal charges
Available data indicates that the suspect was the subject of an international arrest warrant issued by Swedish judicial authorities. A check against the Interpol database revealed a ‘Red Notice’ for his alleged involvement in a case of attempted murder.
Identity fraud and arrest
The charges go beyond the international file; identity verification procedures in Tangier caught the suspect in the act of identity fraud and using forged documents, as he presented a driver’s license containing falsified information. He has been placed in police custody pending a judicial investigation overseen by the competent Public Prosecutor’s Office regarding forgery and document fraud.
International and Moroccan coordination
In accordance with established protocols, the National Central Bureau ‘Interpol Rabat’ has been tasked with notifying Swedish authorities of the arrest, reinforcing the commitment of Moroccan security services to activate international cooperation mechanisms and ensure that fugitives in transnational crime cases do not escape justice.
