Fouzi Lekjaa outlines the path to revitalizing transport and health sectors in the Oriental region

In a party communication meeting held on Wednesday in Oujda, Fouzi Lekjaa, a member of the political bureau of the Authenticity and Modernity Party (PAM), emphasized the necessity for the city to regain its natural position as the “capital of the east” and a primary engine for regional development. He stressed that the history and capabilities the region possesses compel political actors to engage in a path of real change.
Transport and Health Challenges at the Heart of the Debate
Lekjaa criticized the current state of the urban transport sector in Oujda, stating that the quality of services provided does not meet the population’s aspirations or correspond to the city’s scale. In another context, he addressed the crisis in the regional health sector, calling for moving beyond total reliance on the University Hospital Center by strengthening local health infrastructures, improving services, and bringing treatment closer to citizens across all provinces of the Oriental region.
Economic and Social Bets of the “PAM”
Lekjaa reviewed the outlines of the PAM’s electoral program for 2031, noting that the September 23rd elections represent a crucial juncture for choosing those who will manage public affairs. His presentation focused on direct solutions to address the high cost of living and protect purchasing power, through a package of proposals including:
- Improving the income of retirees.
- Reducing the cost of electricity bills for low-consumption households.
- Reducing income tax for employees.
- Confronting intermediaries to control the prices of basic goods between producer and consumer.
Youth and Public Schooling
Lekjaa placed the issue of youth at the top of the priorities, emphasizing the necessity of opening broad horizons for them in the fields of employment and investment, and supporting the creation of small and medium enterprises. He also called for reforming the educational system and restoring the public school’s pivotal role in training and instilling values, as well as preparing youth for the requirements of the labor market.
Sports and the Oujda Memory
The meeting also touched upon the sporting dimension, as Lekjaa praised the history of Mouloudia Oujda, noting the names of the players who left their mark on the national sports memory, while calling for intensified efforts to bring the Oujda team back to the forefront and provide conditions that ensure it regains its glory.
Lekjaa concluded his speech by affirming that the PAM, through its vision for the coming phase, aspires to gain the trust of citizens to manage public affairs, considering that the party is ready to be held accountable based on implemented commitments, with the aim of making a clean break with past practices and giving a real development boost to the city of Oujda and the region as a whole.
