Morocco leads the African scene, securing a spot among the world’s 20 safest countries

Morocco solidifies its position as a regional security power

In a move that strengthens the Kingdom’s image on the international stage, Morocco has successfully secured a place among the top 20 countries in terms of public security, according to the results of the Global Public Security Index 2025-2026. This achievement reflects the continuous development of the Kingdom’s strategies to ensure stability and citizen safety, in an evaluation that included 62 countries worldwide.

The only African exception

What distinguishes this ranking is that Morocco did not just make it onto the list, but managed to become the only African country to reach this advanced standing, at a time when the list lacks any other representation from the continent. This continental distinction highlights the positive gap in the performance of Moroccan security institutions and their ability to respond to contemporary security challenges compared to their regional surroundings.

Figures reflecting the efficiency of the security system

Data from the report reveals that Morocco scored 76.15 points, a figure that exceeds the general average of the 62 countries assessed. This numerical performance clearly reflects the effectiveness of the security policies adopted and the ability of competent agencies to manage risks and provide a stable environment—criteria that have become a fundamental pillar for evaluating a nation’s attractiveness and stability to investors and international partners.

Beyond the international ranking

This presence among the top twenty is an indicator of the maturity of Moroccan national institutions. According to the criteria adopted in the report, the assessment is not limited to the absence of crime but extends to the overall performance level of institutions and their effectiveness in responding to risks. This places Morocco in an advanced position on the global map of public security, reinforcing the international community’s confidence in the Moroccan model of stability.
