Details of the security intervention at a mosque facility near Fez
The ‘Hadaik Al-Badi’ neighborhood, under the territorial jurisdiction of Ain Chkef in the Moulay Yacoub province, experienced a security alert on Saturday night after a young man and a woman were caught in the restrooms of a local mosque, necessitating an immediate intervention by the Royal Gendarmerie.
Origin of the incident and authority response
According to local sources, the mosque’s Imam noticed the pair’s presence in the sanitary facilities and immediately notified the local authorities. The Royal Gendarmerie of Bensouda subsequently dispatched a patrol to the scene to establish the facts.
Security investigation and preliminary findings
Following their arrest, the pair was taken to the territorial brigade headquarters in Bensouda for preliminary questioning, where they both denied engaging in any sexual relations on the premises. During identity verification, it was revealed that the young man had a criminal record involving illicit drug trafficking.
Investigations also showed that the young woman was the subject of an arrest warrant issued by the police in Fez at the request of her family, prompting the competent authorities to take the necessary legal measures.
Legal proceedings
Upon completion of the preliminary investigation, the competent Public Prosecutor’s Office ordered the formalization of the judicial file. It was also decided to hand the woman over to the Fez police, the body responsible for the arrest warrant, to complete the remaining standard procedures.
