Drug dealer arrested in precision security operation in Dakhla

Elements of the public morality brigade, in field coordination with the anti-gang unit of the regional judicial police in Dakhla, successfully put an end to the activities of a dangerous 39-year-old drug dealer last Wednesday, following a precise surveillance operation in the Al Ghofrane district.

Seizures and arrest in the act

Available data indicates that the arrest occurred while the suspect was caught in the act of distributing cannabis resin and psychotropic pills. A thorough search of his home led to the seizure of significant quantities of illicit substances, including 290 grams of cannabis, 17 “Rivotril” medical pills, and 61 liters of moonshine (mahia) ready for sale.

Dismantling of manufacturing equipment and ongoing investigations

In addition to narcotics, the raid resulted in the seizure of equipment used for distilling illicit alcohol, a large bladed weapon, and a sum of money suspected to be proceeds from this illegal activity. A bicycle used by the suspect to deliver his “poisons” to customers was also confiscated.

Legal procedures

The suspect, who has a criminal record, has been placed in police custody under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor’s office. Ongoing investigations aim to uncover all criminal acts attributed to the individual and to identify potential links in his network to track down all others involved in these illicit activities.
