The Souss-Massa region, like other regions of the Kingdom, has entered the electoral campaign for the September 23rd polls amidst an atmosphere of intense political competition. Party organizations and their candidates have intensified their field activities since the early hours, relying on direct communication strategies to win over voters and build a strong electoral base that guarantees them access to Parliament.

Official candidacy data highlight the significance of the stakes; a total of 117 local lists and 18 regional women’s lists are in the race, competing for 28 parliamentary seats. These seats are divided between 21 for local constituencies and 7 for the regional constituency reserved for women.

The intensity of competition varies from one constituency to another based on the number of candidate lists and the density of available seats, leaving the final results open to all possibilities. Here is a breakdown of the electoral landscape in the region:
Agadir Ida-Outanane and Inezgane-Aït Melloul lead the scene with 20 lists participating in each, to win four and three seats respectively. In Chtouka Aït Baha, the struggle intensifies between 22 lists for three seats, while Tiznit sees the participation of 17 lists for only two seats. In Tata, 14 lists compete for two seats, while Taroudant experiences a division in constituencies: 9 lists compete in the north for three seats, and 14 lists in the south for four seats.
