Dutch national arrested in Oujda, wanted internationally for serious crimes

Arrest of an ‘internationally wanted’ person in Oujda during a precise security operation

Elements of the Judicial Police in the city of Oujda successfully arrested a 25-year-old Dutch national on Thursday, August 6. This operation is part of the ongoing efforts by the General Directorate for National Security (DGSN) to combat cross-border crime and strengthen international security cooperation.

A security source reported that the individual was residing illegally in Morocco. A check in the Interpol database revealed that he was the subject of an international arrest warrant issued by Dutch authorities, following a Red Notice for his suspected involvement in organized crime networks.

Heavy accusations and international coordination

The charges against the suspect include drug trafficking, kidnapping, and violence associated with organized criminal gangs, making him a high-level security target for the Central National Bureau in The Hague.

A search of the suspect led to the discovery of a quantity of cannabis resin (chira). He has been placed in custody under the supervision of the public prosecutor, while legal procedures for his extradition to the Netherlands are being processed.

Activation of the extradition process

As part of international security coordination, the Central National Bureau (Interpol Rabat) has notified its Dutch counterpart of the arrest. This action underscores the vigilance of Moroccan security agencies in monitoring foreign criminals who attempt to use Morocco as a haven, confirming the Kingdom’s commitment to global security.
