Digital system to monitor student absenteeism starting September 7th

Official confirmation of the school year start date

In a move aimed at ensuring educational stability and avoiding any confusion at the start of the current school year, the Ministry of National Education, Preschool, and Sports has pledged that the academic process will begin on the scheduled date of September 7. This confirmation came during an expanded meeting in Rabat, which brought together the Secretary-General of the Ministry and representatives of students’ parents’ associations.

Officials stressed during the three-hour meeting the importance of adhering to the approved schedule for all grade levels, confirming that the primary goal is to eliminate the phenomenon of wasted school time and ensure an effective, organized start that serves the student’s interest and guarantees their right to learn from the first day.

Advanced digital mechanism for attendance control

The same source revealed that the Ministry has decided to move to a new stage in administrative and educational management by adopting an advanced digital mechanism to track student absenteeism. This technique relies on entering attendance and absence data directly into the information system of educational institutions.

Once an absence is recorded, this data will be instantly transferred through the administrative hierarchy, from provincial directorates to regional academies, and finally to the Ministry’s central services. This process aims to regulate the school rhythm and monitor attendance moment by moment, which enhances the role of the family and the educational institution in improving the education and training system.

Effective partnership for a successful school year

The meeting also reviewed the measures accompanying this launch, emphasizing the pivotal role played by parents’ associations as a strategic partner in the success of this phase. The Ministry urged families to engage positively in supporting their children to ensure the continuity of academic achievement under the best conditions, considering that the success of the school year is a shared responsibility that requires collective efforts.
